He is survived by: his children, Pamela Hoke (Rocky), Christopher Stills (Angela), Lawrence Hugh Anderson II (Sheila) and Kimberly Feltham (Raymond); his grandchildren, Lawrence Hugh Anderson III, Lauren Anderson Mack, Ashley Brooke Anderson Cottone, Joshua Travis Hoke, Bradley Evan Hoke, Elyssa Summer Crider, Chasity Lauren Wilburn and Brittany Megan Wilburn; his great grandchildren, Lawrence Hugh Anderson IV, Cooper John Anderson, River Vaughn Pendergrass, Paisley Brooke Pendergrass, Kennedy Blake Cottone, Hayden Alexandra Mack, Harvey Glenn Mack, Cameron Riley Payne, Kiley Brielle Payne, Zamar Kien Teel and Evelyn Bernice Teel; and his siblings, James, Earl, Blanche, Ethel, Rose and Jewell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Federation of the Blind of North Carolina.
