He is survived by: his wife Judy Hairston Phillips; his children, Yolanda Phillips (Donnie) and John Phillips, Jr. (Shashonda); his stepchildren, Claytonia Dillard and Charles Dillard, Jr. (Susan) of Spencer, NC; and his siblings, Geraldine Miller and Robert L. Phillips, Jr. (Linda). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and dear friends.
