He was predeceased by: his parents, June Bailey and Anice Foster Smith; his daughter Crystal Yvette Moore; and his siblings, Cindy Brown and Bailey Smith.
He is survived by: his granddaughters, Rachael Layton (Daniel) of Mocksville, NC and Brianna Allred (Lucas) of Lexington, NC; his sisters, June Whitaker and Martha McBride of Mocksville, NC; his great grandchildren, Henry Allred and Mia Layton; and his friend Frank Weddle. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
