She was predeceased by: her parents, Jospeh W. Byrd and Fannie Austin Byrd; and her former husband Marvin P. Herring. She is survived by: her husband William M. Ward; and her children, Stanley G. Herring Sr. (Toni) of Wilmington, NC, Arnold P. Herring (Brenda) of Salisbury, NC, Gloria J. Riggsbee of Salisbury, NC, Rose M. Whitley of Polkton, NC and Fannie H. Ross of Salisbury, NC. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Canaan Baptist Church at 785 Barringer Street, Salisbury, NC 28146, and The American Heart Association.
