James left this world on June 12, 2024 at the age of 77, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by : his parents, James Adam and Amy Jean Earnhardt; and his sisters, Patricia Poole of Rockwell and Christine Earnhardt of Salisbury. He is survived by : his wife Vickie Earnhardt; his brothers, Sam Earnhardt (Sherry) of Faith and Reggie Earnhardt (Terri) of Rockwell; his daughter Suzanne Earnhardt of George; his stepchildren, Tammy Ridenhour (Michael) of Millingport, Steven Hatley (Lynne) of Albemarle, Brenda Hatley of Albemarle and Linda Russell (Mike) of Albemarle; and his stepgrandsons, Kenneth Ridenhour, Keith Ridenhour, Dustin Beachum, Tyler Martin, Travis Martin, Joshua Hicks and Justin Hicks. He is also survived by his 5 step great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Monday, June 24th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Salisbury National Cemetery (501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144).
