Elsie Mae Knox Obituary
Ms. Elsie Mae Knox, 102, passed on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at her residence.
Born November 10, 1920 in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley Knox and May Jane Neal Knox.
Educated in the public schools of Iredell-Statesville Schools, she was last employed as a domestic worker. She worked with the Joel Shoulson Family for over 50 years.
Ms. Knox was a member of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Annie Odessa Turner Everett; son, Willie James Turner; brothers, William "Bill" Knox and George Knox; brother-in-law, Robert Rankin; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Knox and Florence Knox.
Those left to cherish her memories are her siblings, Eldora Rankin and John Marshall Knox both of Cleveland, Esther Marie Hall of Salisbury, Viola J. Hosch of Cleveland, and Jamie Turman (John) of Durham; granddaughters, Janet Everett Sway of Statesville, Patricia Everett of the home and Deborah Yager (Anthony) of Georgia; great-grandchildren, Demetrius Everett (Shontel) of Cleveland, Nyemah Sway and LeVar Everett both of Statesville, Juwan Everett of Greenville, Akisha Yager, Antonie Yager and Alexis Yager all of Georgia; 13 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
