She was predeceased by: her parents, John M. Poplin and Lola Mentoria Summers Poplin; her husband Carl Edward Chappell; and her siblings, Oscar Lee Poplin, Grady Poplin, Thelma Turntine, Clara Goodwin, Kathleen Hatley and Wilma Poplin.
She is survived by: her sons, Shawn E. Chappell of Salisbury and Kevin D. Chappell of Spartanburg, SC; her grandsons, David S. Chappell (Katie), Garrett D. Chappell and Grant A. Chappell; and her great grandchildren, Rylee Grace Chappell, Judah Benjamin Chappell and Brandon Dale Chappell. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
