He is survived by: his sisters, Christine Coan of Charlotte, NC and Rita Mushaben of Cincinnati, OH; his former wife Mercy Waechter of Charlotte; and his stepsons, Carlos, Frank and Jerry Zapata of Charlotte. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
