It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward James Heavner (Salisbury, North Carolina), born in Lincolnton, North Carolina, who passed away on September 24, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, R. A. Heavner and Barbara B. Atherton; his brothers, Thomas E. Atherton and Stephen A. Atherton; his son William James Heavner; and his grandson Jamison Max Heavner.
He is survived by: his pet Izzie; his wife Sharon Heavner; his daughter Angela Heavner Wallace; his son-in-law Gerald; his daughter Alexandra Heavner; his daughter-in-law Karen Heavner; his grandchildren, Jason Elliott, Kevin Elliott, Jamie Crider, Bradley Blackwelder, Eli Heavner and Shelby Watts; his siblings, Barbara Boler, William Atherton and Lee Atherton; his sister-in-law Debbie Atherton; and his nieces and nephews, Heather Anderson, Sarah Atherton, Jennifer Bursey, Kyle Atherton and Jared Boler. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
