She was predeceased by: her parents, James Lee Cowan and Edna Mae Caldwell Cowan; her husband Alonzo Turner, Sr.; her daughter Shanita C. Turner Foxx; and her brothers, James Edward Cowan, John Henry Cowan, Lawrence Alexander Cowan, Charles Luther Cowan, Albert Colba Cowan and Jimmy Ray Cowan.
She is survived by: her sons, Alonzo Turner, Jr. of Cleveland and James Turner (Antoinette) of Charlotte; her siblings, Dr. Ivey Lee Cowan of Salisbury and Sammy Lewis (Shelia) of Spencer; and her son-in-law Mark Foxx of Salisbury. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
