She was predeceased by: her parents, Irvin Rowland and Lillie Troutman Rowland; her husband Rev. Harold R. Smith, Sr.; her son Rodney Wayne Holshouser; and her siblings, Delmar Rowland, Roy Rowland, Jane Trexler, Bobby Rowland and Shirley Reavis.
She is survived by: her children, Penny Holshouser Biggers (Ed) of Gastonia and Terry O. Holshouser (Teresa) of Gold Hill; her sister Marie Barringer Eller of Albemarle; and her grandchildren, Rodney O. Holshouser, Starla A. Holshouser, Daniel R. Holshouser and Stephanie M. Swirble Mathis. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
