He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Stewart and Charles Steed; his grandparents, Ross William Stewart and Louise Stewart; his sister Susan Steed Lancaster; and his grandson Seth Steed.

He is survived by: his children, Jason Steed of Lexington, Samuel Steed (Bridget) of Salisbury and Michelle Steed of Salisbury; his grandchildren, Cody, Aaron, Jasmine, Molly and Eligh; his great grandchildren, Cayden and Kathryne; and his brother Michael William Steed of Mt. Ulla.
