He was predeceased by: his parents, Billie T. Staton and Maggie Lea Cecil Staton; his wife Mildred Altenburg Staton (Millie); his daughter Janet Lea Staton; and his siblings, Courtney Staton and Geneva Reynolds.
He is survived by: his children, Chris (Kathy Staton) of Simpsonville, SC, Jill Huneycutt of Mooresville, NC and Laura Wilhelm (Trent) of Salisbury, NC.; and his grandchildren, Michael, Jenn, Christie, Madison, Mackenzie, Carlyle, Tyler and Hayley. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
Bill would always try to help anyone in need and would always donate his blood and plasma multiple times for many years. He was also involved in the Alzheimer's Walk in 2015.
