She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry Lyerly and Mary White Lyerly. She is survived by: her daughters, Sylvia Kerr and Maria Cowan; her sons-in-law, James Kerr and Andrew Cowan; her grandchildren, Maria Holtzclaw and Stephen Gilmore; her siblings, Johnsie McCorkle, Evelyn Gibson, Margaret Graham, Bettye Holt, George, Warren, Charles and Franklin Lyerly; her children, Marilyn Ellis (Mack), Allie Witherspoon (Rodney), Shirley Vinson (Roy), Wendy Baskins, Steve Gilmore, Jr. (Pelinka) and Kenneth Gilmore (Diane); her sisters, Rose Springer and Dorothy Brooks (Matthew); her sisters-in-law, Lola Gilmore and Ruth Gilmore; and her caregiver Ava Fryar. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren.
