She was predeceased by: her parents, Faison Butler and Maude Melvin Butler; her husband Offie B. "Benny" Tew, III; and her brother Rufus Freeman. She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Vaughn Howell (Preston) of Dunn and Offie B. Tew, IV of Salemburg; her grandson Trent Austin Mallard (Taylor) of Godwin; her great grandchild Emily Sue Mallard; her sister Cheryl Butler Burgess of Roseboro; her niece Rhonda Torchio (Phil Torchio, Jr.) of Raleigh; her great-niece Adriana Torchio; and her great-nephew Philip Torchio.
