He was predeceased by: his parent Myrtle Lee Strickland; his wife Edna Lee Strickland; and his siblings, Joe Strickland, Inez Barefoot and Becky Wood.

He is survived by: his parent Luke Strickland; his son James Craig Strickland of Salemburg; his grandchildren, James Earl Strickland (Jennifer), Jeremy Glenwood Strickland (Casey) and Michaela Strickland; his great grandchildren, Dakota Strickland, Caleb Strickland, Ayden Strickland and Ansley Strickland; and his brother Robert Strickland.
