Jacqueline Matthews Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jacqueline Matthews of Salemburg, North Carolina, who passed away on February 23, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Purley Jackson and Bettie Katherine Grantham Worley; her husbands, Norman C Reeves and Edward Matthews; her stepson Gary Jason Gainey; and her siblings, Newton Dixon Worley, Flossie Lee Worley Pope and Mosley Gray Worley.
She is survived by: her daughters, Gail Gainey (Alfred Bass) of Clinton and Tammy R Tew (Steve) of Roseboro; her grandchildren, Ryan Tew, Lindsay McNeill, Erica Cribbs and Katie Pate; and her stepdaughters, Connie Carr and Margie Smith. She is also survived by 14 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Calvary PFWB Church. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Calvary PFWB Church, 6570 High House Rd., Salemburg, NC 28385.
