He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Alice Hagins McDuffie of Rex-Rennert and Daniel Weldon McDuffie; and his siblings, D. W. McDuffie (Sally), Margaret McLendon (Johnnie) and Myrtle Knowles (Jim).
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his daughters, Teresa Mercer (Dale) and Carla Commander; his grandchildren, Allie and Cameron Commander; his siblings, Earl McDuffie, Lillian Formy-Duval (Mackie) and Joyce Hardin; and his brother-in-law Bobby Hart. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
