With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gloria Sutton of Saint Pauls, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 26, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Smith and Emma Jane Smith; her husband James Richard Sutton; and her siblings, Carlton Smith, Harry Smith, Jerelane Salisbury, Joann Taylor and Noraine Malone.
She is survived by: her children, James Sutton (Wendy) of St. Pauls, NC, Patricia Mitchell (Jamie) of Nashville, TN and Carolyn Deweese (Chris) of Charleston, SC; and her siblings, Leo Smith (Dorothy) of Pamplico, SC, Annette Benton of St. Pauls, NC, Shirley Barnhill of Beaver Dam, NC, Linda Williford (Ronnie) of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Rose Marie Locklear of St. Pauls, NC. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
