He is survived by: his wife Claudia Muniz Young; his children, Gail Young Attula (Gary, Annette Young) and Barbara Young Jackson (Jeff); his siblings, Alvin Young and Netha Young McKinney (Jim); and his grandchildren, Nichol Tate, Derek Jackson, Brittney Smith, Emma Kirk and Scott Attula. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives and friends.
