He is survived by: his sons, Christopher Smith of Rutherfordton and Shane Smith of Morganton; his siblings, Shannon Smith Parker of Gilkey, Paul Smith of Danieltown and Dale Smith (Diane) of Gilkey; his sister-in-law Sharon Smith of Rutherfordton; his daughter-in-law Lisa Smith Cable of Union Mills; and his grandsons, Adam Smith and Luke Smith.
