She was predeceased by: her husband Johnnie Bowling, Sr.; her parents, Melvin Asbury and Sophia Callahan Asbury; and her daughters, Shirley and Rebecca Bowling.
She is survived by: her children, Clara Dodd (Gene), Johnnie Bowling Jr. (Michelle) of Rutherfordton, Jerry Bowling of Rutherfordton and Sherry Kasten (Jonathan) of Marion; and her sisters, Katherine Brown of Tazewell, VA, Ella Herald of Tazewell, VA and Judy Rowe of Ramsure. She is also survived by her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.
