He was predeceased by: his parents, Timmons Leverett and Florence Davis Leverett; his son Robert Lee Leverett, Jr.; his siblings, Earl Timmons Leverett, Jr. and Frances Robbins; and his brother-in-law Barney S. Robbins.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Robbins Leverett; his daughter Kim Mode (Rodney) of Rutherfordton; his grandchildren, Tony Belue (Victoria), Jennifer Glynn (Eric) and Wes Ray Leverett; and his great grandchildren, Kadience Brook, Ethan Fowler, Max Ryan Belue, Ava Caroline Belue and Lennox Glynn.
