He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ellen Wingo Greenlee; his parents, John Vassas Buchanan and Emma Elizabeth McCoy Buchanan; and his siblings, Nancy Mae Correll Hughes, J. V. Buchanan, Riley Buchanan and Samuel Buchanan.
He is survived by: his son Randolph Buchanan; his stepdaughters, Molly Greenlee Emerson, Michelle Greenlee and Mary Anne Greenlee Blanton; and his siblings, Mary Lowdermilk, Martha Sharp, Brady Buchanan and Elmer Buchanan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
