With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maureen Fitzgerald-Wilkerson of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 29, 2024 at the age of 80. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Maureen leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Buddy Fitzgerald and Gerry Fitzgerald; her husband Michael Wilkerson; and her son Keith Michael Johnson. She is survived by: her daughter Suzanne Elizabeth Sanders; her son-in-law Dave Sanders; her sisters, Gerry Klock, Mona Burnham and Christine Fitzgerald (Ronnie); and her grandchildren, Heather Ashley Sanders-Enloe, Kayla Sage Johnson and Thane Johnson. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
