He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edward Melton and Thelma Allen Melton; his son Scott Melton; and his brothers, Tim and Terry Melton.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Jean Wellborn Melton; his daughter Marsha Wallace (Todd); his grandchildren, Christopher, Holly, Hadden Melton, Marisa Myers (Jordan), Laura Wallace and Ryan Wallace; his great grandchildren, Ella Grace Wallace and Clyde Hugheston Eads; and his siblings, Randall, Larry Melton and Delane Cleveland.
