She was predeceased by: her parents, Allen Platt and Laura Dangerfield Platt; her husband Kenneth Woods; and her siblings, Charles Platt, Rutledge Platt, Bernice Hooks, Ester Bass, Violet Fleshman and Linda Durrance.
She is survived by: her daughter Karen Woods Brown of Union Mills; her siblings, Julia McVay, Denzle Platt (Shirley Jean) of Apopka, Florida and Raymond Platt (Shirley Faye) of Apopka, Florida; her grandsons, Luke Westerman, Derrick Woods-Brown and Jacob Brown; and her great grandchildren, Hunter Street and Jackson Woods-Brown.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mountain Creek Baptist Church (710 Mountain Creek Rd, Rutherfordton, NC 28139). A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
