We are sad to announce that on January 12, 2025, at the age of 81, Joan Wright (Rutherfordton, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ben Duncan and Sue Duncan; her husband Clayton Wright; and her sons, Vicent Hamrick and James Hamrick.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Goode (David), Anthony Hamrick (Misty) and Mechela Murphy (Dean); her stepsons, Clayton Wright Jr. (Suzanne) and Robert Wright (Tammy); her grandchildren, Bridgett Hamrick, Jessica Bowen, Jay Hamrick, Clay Hamrick, Natalie Slocum (Tyler), Madison Gordon, Waylon Murphy, Chad Wright, Lindsey Shatnawi and Heather Wright; her brother Wayne Duncan (Beth); her aunts, Viola Tate and Sarah Hughes (Charles); and her niece Corbie Bradley (Eric). She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Southern Baptist Church (140 Church St, Rutherfordton, NC 28139).
