He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Austin and Ella Mae Rose Austin. He is survived by: his wife Betty Sales Bridges Austin; his children, Mathew of Virginia, Heather of South Carolina and Jerry of Casar; his stepchildren, Diane of Rutherfordton, Randy of Gastonia, Carla of Forest City and Rhonda of Arkansas; and his siblings, Janice of Virginia, Leshia of Virginia, Sharon of Virginia, Jenny Lynn of Virginia and Tommy of Virginia. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
