James Marshall Burgess Obituary
In loving memory of James Marshall Burgess of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, who departed this world on January 11, 2025 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Burgess and Guynell Parker Burgess; and his great-niece Mallorie McCollum. He is survived by: his sister Wilda Jo; his brother-in-law Rupert Spencer Hodge; his nieces, Karla Hodge McCollum and Amala Hodge Sentell (Shannon); and his great-nephews, Brent McCollum, Seth McCollum, Gray Sentell (Hadley), Sloan Sentell and Talbot Sentell.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (130 Pleasant Grove Rd, Rutherfordton, NC 28139). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to may be made in Marshall's memory to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Backpack Missions.
