He was predeceased by: his parents, Mamie Dalton and Jack Dalton of Lake Lure; his son Michael Todd Foster; his brothers, Perry Dalton and Scott Dalton; and his grandparents, JB Davis, Georgia Davis, Ray and Rachel Dalton.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Jackson Dalton; his daughters, Ashleigh Dalton and Tina Foster Melton; his sisters, Sandra Dalton Hughes and Gail Dalton Boone; and his grandchildren, Aiden, Allyssa Dalton, Michael and Matthew Melton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
