He was predeceased by: his parents, Everette Say Melton and Genie Murray Melton; and his siblings, Earl Melton, Grace Norville and Martha Toney.
He is survived by: his wife Angelyn Flynn Melton; his sons, George William Melton, Jr. (Bobbi) and Perry Say Melton (Betsy); his grandchildren, Samantha Smith (Jeremy), Adrienne Allen (Mark), Quinne Teske (Blake) and Ben Melton; and his sister Wilma Robertson. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to Adaville Baptist Church.
