He is survived by: his parent Georgia Mae Byrd Amos; his wife Patricia Cochran Padgett; his son Jack Padgett (Jessica); his grandchildren, Kaitlin Melanie Padgett, Kiara Smith, John Smith and Mechiah Silvers; and his siblings, William Joseph Padgett of Rutherfordton, Michael Lee Padgett of Asheville and Joyce Padgett Saunders (Kirk) of Asheville.
