He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lanning and Daisy Raines Lanning; and his brothers, Junior, Jesse and James Lanning.
He is survived by: his close friend Ramona Lanning; the mother of his children Judy Hipps Lanning; his daughters, Lisa Angel (Charles) and Denise Lanning (Mikey); his siblings, Anne Bradley and Ricky Lanning; his grandchildren, Dylan, Hailey, Mackenzie and Elizabeth; and his great grandchildren, Rae Lynn, Brinley, Amara, Mayson and Mackenzie Rose.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service (7626 NC-213, Mars Hill, NC 28754). A memorial service was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
