He is survived by: his wife Sharon Byrd Smith of Rutherfordton, NC.; his daughters, Carla Smith and Randi Rene Sentell; his grandchildren, Carly, Baron, Isla, South and Jackson; and his siblings, Shannon Parker, Stanley Smith, Dale Smith and Paul Smith. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
