He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Franklin Sr. and Sarah Branch Franklin; his wife Maxine Reece Franklin; and his siblings, Bessie Clarke, Wilma Conley, Pauline Branch, Lula Jones, William Earl Franklin, Arthur Franklin and Hubert Franklin.
He is survived by: his children, Roger Franklin (Monica) of Valdese, Connie Franklin of Drexel and Lori Pinnix (Ron) of Valdese; his siblings, Lewis Franklin and Lorraine Key; his grandchildren, Joshua Ryan Hughes, Ashley Ritter, Halee Hildebran, Prescott Pinnix and Randy Lynn Lail Jr.; his close friend Beverly Ramm; and his pet Bandit. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
