He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Helton and Ollie Walker Helton. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Lucas Helton; and his siblings, Gene Helton (Beatrice) of Lenoir, Annie Crotts (Larry) of Granite Falls and Ellen Shew of Lenoir. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
