She was predeceased by: her parent Henry Milton Bowman; her husband Dewey W. Carswell; her siblings, Jack Bowman, Joe Bowman, Ruth Benfield and Allie Abernathy; and her daughter Anne Goins.
She is survived by: her parent Mary Elizabeth McLean Bowman; her children, Teresa Dale (Robin) of Morganton, Mary Lee Carswell of Connelly Springs and James Carswell of Morganton; her son-in-law Michael Goins; her grandchildren, Amy Eckard, Gena Brienzi, Steven Goins, Lana Bowman and Alexis Dale; and her great grandchildren, Keith Cook, Peyton Eckard, Caramia Eckard and Connor Brienzi.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church PO Box 130 Rutherford College, NC; or Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Rd. Valdese, NC 28690.
