She was predeceased by : her son William Carl Gross, Jr.; her grandparents, Lumis and Vivian Smith; and her aunt Thelma Montgomery. She is survived by : her husband William Carl Gross; her daughter Amanda Starr Gross (Brian Hiatt); her mother Dorothy Smith Asbury; her brother Darrin Reed (Pam); and her pet Buddy Lee.

A graveside service was held on Monday, June 24th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Rural Hall Memorial Park (531 Tobaccoville Rd, Rural Hall, NC 27045).
