He was predeceased by: his brother-in-law Dewey Harris; and his son-in-law Grant Darnell. He is survived by: his wife Maxine; his children, Teresa Farmer (Jim), Krista Kiger, Rachel Kiger and Alan Kiger (Monica); his sister Ivah Harris; his children, Bryan Harris and Todd Harris (Donna); and also, Benjamin Farmer (Allyson), Stephanie Farmer, Kemper Kiger (Christy) and Garrett Kiger.
