He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Sorrells Sr. and Sammie Riddle Sorrells; and his brother Johnny Sorrells. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Spaugh Sorrells; his children, Sam (Kristina), Miriam and Deborah (Pruette); his grandchildren, Jenna Wahler (Jeremy), Jacob Plemens, Brea Sorrells, Sarah Plemens and Matthew Sorrells; and his brothers, Ward Sorrells and Mike Sorrells (Kathy).
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Rural Hall Chapel - Hayworth-Miller Funeral Homes & Crematory (305 Bethania-Rural Hall Rd, Rural Hall, NC 27045). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (225 Holly Ln, Elizabethton, TN 37643).
