She was predeceased by: her mother Cecelia Mills; and her sister Ruth M. Russell. She is survived by: her husband Charles Winston; her children, Robin Mills and David Mills; her adoptive daughter Inez Fields (Jon); her brother James Mills (Betty); her grandchildren, Timothy Blackwell and Min; her stepchildren, Charles, Jr., Gayle, Ron, Keith Winston and Teresa Hunter; and her cousin Elvira Thomas.
The foundation of her Christian Faith was declared in the union she established with the Mount Hermon Baptist Church , where she fellowshipped all her life.
