He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Stokes and Pattie Williams Stokes; his son L. Durand Stokes; and his siblings, Bertha S. Prillaman, Brenda S. Rogers Jennings, Eugene and Charles Stokes.
He is survived by: his son Lenwood Demonde Stokes (Darlene); his grandchildren, Bryson Stokes, Jordan Penn, Alison Stokes and Olivia Stokes; his great grandchild Ali Williams; his sister Adell S. Edmonds (James); his brother-in-law Sherman Jennings; his nieces, Shannon Stokes-Graham and Tammy Stokes-Hewitt; his nephew John Lenwood Rogers; his aunts and uncles, Susie Williams, Addie Stokes, Josephine Williams, Cecil C. Stokes and John W. Fulton; and his great-nephews, Darrion Stokes-Graham, Joshua Hewitt, Jaxen Rogers and Jace Rogers.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Friday, November 06, 2020 from 2 to 8 pm with the family being present from 5 to 8pm in Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time.
