It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LaJeanna Simmons Simpson of Ruffin, North Carolina, born in Newburgh, New York, who passed away on May 6, 2022, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Jean Doris Simmons Collins; her stepfather James E. Collins Sr.; her siblings, Taja Simmons, Renee Clark, James E. Collins Jr. and Anthony Collins (Analisa); and her grandparents, Ralph France, Vivian P. Graves, Wilson Graves, Augusta and Ethel Simmons.
She is survived by: her husband Deacon Raymond Simpson; her children, Juwan Simpson of Charlotte, NC and La Bre'a Simpson of Winston-Salem, NC; her father Richard A. Simmons Sr. (Rhea) of Akron Ohio; her great-aunt Willie Mae Bob of Columbus Ohio; and her siblings, Richard A Simmons Jr. (Leeanna) of Akron Ohio, Anthony W. Simmons of Reidsville, NC, Maurice L. Simmons of Akron Ohio, Anthony C. Sutton Sr. of Akron, Ohio, Renee R. Simmons of Reidsville, NC, Sandra Pointer (Lee) of Roxboro, NC, Patricia Hamilton (James) of Akron Ohio, Vernie Collins of Akron Ohio and SaRita Cooper (Ernest) of Houston Texas. She is also survived by close friends, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, and extended family and friends.
