James Edward Powell Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Edward Powell of Ruffin, North Carolina, born in Rockingham, North Carolina, who passed away on January 10, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Marvin Powell and Josie Scearce Powell; his wife Louise Overton Powell; and his sister Elaine Powell Hopkins. He is survived by: his children, James Michael Powell, Kathy P. Higgs (Mike), Jeannie Powell and Jim Edd Powell (Lori); his grandchildren, Savannah, Madalynn, Kelly and Jason Powell; his great grandchild Willie; and his pet Becca. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rockingham County Animal Shelter at 250 Cherokee Camp Road, Reidsville, NC 27320.
