He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Jenkins Minton and Myrtle Mae Minton; his wife Pattie Whitehead Minton; and his brothers, Joseph Minton, Gene Minton, Wilson Minton and Rubert Earl Minton.
He is survived by: his children, Kathryn Bazemore (Ken) of Archer Lodge, NC, Myrna Goldberg (Jack) of Roanoke Rapids and Stephen Carroll Minton (Shirl) of Roxobel; his grandchildren, Aaron Bazemore of Little River, SC, Ben Goldberg (Sara), Craig Minton of Williamston, Carroll Pate (Don) of Selma, Emily Goldberg of Raleigh and Mallory Harris (Trent) of Fuquay Varina; his great grandchildren, Colby, Addison, Emerson Bazemore, Aidan, Olivia Pate, Preston Jean and Bodie Harris; and his sister-in-law Virginia Minton of Ahoskie.
