He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Napoleon Johnson and Hassie Smith Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Ronna Cousins Johnson; his children, Rashad Gilliam (Nashara) of Windsor, NC, Mya Johnson Brown (Derrick) of Greenville, NC and Michael Johnson, Jr. of Kelford, NC; and his siblings, Annette Johnson Vaughan (Calvin) of Harrisburg, PA, Joyce Eley (Horace) of Charlotte, NC, Geraldine Williams of Roxobel, NC and Cottes Smallwood. He is also survived by four aunts; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 24th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Sandy Branch Missionary Baptist Church (4318 Governors Rd, Roxobel, NC 27872).
