He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Royster and Cora Royster; and his siblings, Gennie Smith, Mattie Royster, Early "Jimmy" Royster and Willie "Tom" Royster.
He is survived by: his sons, John Paul Paylor (Wanda) of Oxford, NC and Alfonso Paylor (Jackie) of Roxboro, NC; his sisters, Irie Poteat of Hurdle Mills, NC, Addie Pettiford of Woodsdale, NC, Margaret Harris of Roxboro, Corrine Royster of Roxboro and Linda Royster of Roxboro; and his close friend Geraldine Paylor. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other additional relatives and friends.
