She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Floyd Paylor and Dora Talley Paylor; her siblings, Glossie Paylor, Joanne Lee, Floyd Paylor, Jewel Paylor, Gordon Paylor and Johnny Paylor; and her grandson James Roger Nelson, III.
She is survived by: her husband James Roger Nelson, Sr.; her sons, Jamie Nelson (Mekka) and Jason Nelson; her grandchildren, Jordann Nelson and Asa Nelson; her siblings, Pearl Carver, Pansy Fowler, Dorothy "Dot" Tomasovich, May Paylor and Walter Paylor; and her niece Sharon Paylor. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, close extended family.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 65 Nelson Loop, Roxboro, NC 27574. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Mill Hill Missionary Baptist Church (1635 Mill Hill Rd, Roxboro, NC 27574). A burial was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Nelson Family Cemetery (2555 Allensville Rd, Roxboro, NC 27574).
