He was predeceased by: his parents, John Elvin Sr. and Bernice Featherstone Wilkerson; and his brothers, Ossie Wilkerson and Burnell Wilkerson. He is survived by: his wife Vera Alice Pyles; his children, Joy Lynn Wilkerson Yancy (David) of Memphis and Jarrod O'Neal Wilkerson of Greensboro; and his brothers, John E. Wilkerson of Roxboro, Lawrence Wilkerson of Roxboro, Mike Wilkerson (Tracy) of Roxboro and Marcus Wilkerson (Veronica) of Roxboro.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cunningham & Associates Funeral Services. The lying in state will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Shady Hill Baptist Church (1500 Old Durham Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
